I did not install it, I just run it from a live-usb. Displaying first 40 and last 40 comments. The normal ubuntu driver doesn't realize it needs to do this.

The best solution at the moment seems to be installing Adam McDaniel's kernel linux- image Follow these instructions for installing the necessary software to compile the madwifi driver with then you will have to get the latest madwifi driver--the instructions for downloading it did not work for me but the location is correct.
