All apps have access to my microphone. I tried installing Nvidia drivers, Realtek drivers, and the default Windows audio driver. Unfortunately I decided to be a know-it-all and decided to botch driver installations. Proven-skills collaborators will have their usernames marked with a dark blue flair.

Should fix the issue. Right now, my laptop cannot play audio.

Issue with sound on certified Dell Inspiron Given the amount of these I've seen here today I wouldn't be surprised if dll recall the update againwhich will make me chuckle at least. The issue might have been patched, but those affected might still have to restore Windows. How did you roll back?

You just postponed dealing with the problem. Don't update it, uninstall it and restart the machine.

But when i connect to hdmi there is only sound from the comp. Blog spam, link spam, referral spam, joke posts and responses, memes, novelty accounts, trolling, unethical behavior, and personal insults will not be tolerated. This immediately brought back Microsoft's high definition audio controller for me, and I was able to undo the various other fixes I'd been trying, leaving my laptop's audio working exactly as it had before the update.

Audii all fine and dandy until you auto-update again and have the exact same problem once again. In any case it seems connected to that SST thing, when I rolled back it removed all SST lines and restored the old drivers that had a completely different name. Man, I have the exact same problem too. All that was done fixing this bug was uninstall and reinstall pulseaudio and the alsa-base.
